Neville's Cross Community Association is supporting the Western Relief Road Action Group (WRRAG) in their campaign to fight the new Western Relief Road, proposed across Green Belt land to the west of Neville's Cross.

https://youtu.be/8ZaGwR7xnko The proposed route runs south from Sniperley through Green Belt land to the west of Neville's Cross, before connecting to Broom Lane just west of the Stonebridge roundabout. Plans for the road (part of the proposed County Durham Plan) have recently been consulted upon and are awaiting Examination in Public. This week is your last chance to comment on the Pre-Submission Draft of the County Durham Plan.

The County Durham Plan sets the planning framework up to 2035 to support the development of a thriving economy in County Durham while at the same time protecting those things that are important to us all. It identifies a number of sites for new employment, new housing and new infrastructure to accommodate the growth needed to achieve these ambitions.
The pre-submission draft of the plan is currently being consulted upon. During a consultation you can send responses in a number of ways, but DCC would like to encourage you to submit your views online, via the interactive website. The council is providing a presentation on the Housing Strategy to the County Durham Association of Local Councils on the 21st of February 2019 to support this consultation. The Housing Strategy is available to view at all local libraries and Customer Access Points across County Durham.
